_COURTING THE MUSE
The main figure is transparent so that it resembles the forms of Indonesian Wayang Kulit or “Shadow Play”, a unique combination of ritual, lesson, and entertainment.

This drawing is based on a photo that was taken my friend and digital artist Tom Chambers.
The other part of the inspiration comes from The Ten Oxherding Pictures by a Zen master of the Sung Dynasty known as Kaku-an Shi-en (Kuo-an Shih-yuan) belonging to the Rinzai school. He is also the author of the poems and introductory words attached to the pictures.
